Today I had two kids pile onto me and demand READING. They handed me every book they got today at the library and I went through all six of them. A couple were just boring because they were descriptions of what a pediatrician does (and so on). The rest were just stupid, fluffy books for little girls.
It was awful. It was torture. Angelina-fucking-Ballerina. Barbie. OH GOD, THE BARBIE.
That was the dumbest book I have ever read. (I must admit now that I have never read Twilight.) I would rather read the stupid pediatrician book 20 more times than read that fucking Barbie book again. I don't think these girls will grow up to be idiots, but good god. If they read more of that trash, then yes. Yes. They will grow up dumb. That was a dumb book, and reading shit like that will marinate your brain in idiocy. A filmy layer of stupid will grow over your brain, and it will make your gray matter melt like Velveeta and run out your ears.
Ugh.
I don't generally have shit against Barbie, but that story was the definition of "banal."
And "insipid."
That was such a beautiful gesture, thank you Senpai. You may not think much of it since there is no way for you to experience what it's like to have Kyolicious read you a story, Regardless of the subject matter, you are a brilliant speaker and the effect is quite inspiring... I'm sure at some level this moment will resonate in their hearts forever and contribute towards their evolution into caring people... Jeez, I need to lay off all that romantic collections radio crap, starting to talk like the DJ! Enough kissing up >=]
ReplyDeleteHow are you this fine weekend? I hope the weather is improving where you are. I get a bit worried when you start getting stressed and your mind begins to gravitate towards negative possibilities such as falling or hurting from the cold. I was lost in a storm, my own carelessness, and my hands and feet sustained serious cold damage. Cold damage will never full heal. Many years later I still find my hands stiff and clumsy, difficult to replicate the detailed work which was easily achieved in my youth. Please be careful. Don't underestimate the danger and keep your hands and feet well protected. Winter will pass and soon you'll be here complaining it's too hot =D.
I know you don't watch TV or sports but please tell me you caught the opening ceremonies at work or something! So incredibly powerful! That War and Peace segment, I shed a tear for that era. 0.0
As for needing something to watch, I hear the American selection on Netflix is exceptional. $5 a month for all the shows and films you can watch *drool* -demo don't succumb to the temptation! Finish the book =].
It's always a good idea to have something prepared in advance just in case of an emergency nothing to do situation. Just remember not to let it get too far out of hand XD. I'm sure, like everyone, you have that friend with a ridiculous backlog of video games! There's thinking ahead and then there's... Whatever THAT is! XD
I was overly sugoi'd to discover my toy arrived way before anticipated! In only 4 days from Tokyo, I thought for sure I'd be waiting until Monday. Made my weekend but I got an earful because I forgot to buy my sister a Gundam model (customary between us)! Those things give me a headache. Like is it really necessary for a centimeters small robot to have a fully functioning detailed and articulate inner frame when 90% of it's going to be covered up by the armor anyway? It's so stupid.
So yeah, have to order one of those today (A rare one! Revenge no less!) on top of my next purchase... A couple small errands and little bit of light reading makes another unproductive and lazy weekend, exactly how I like them! >=]
Enjoy your weekend. -Oli
