Well ... sometimes I just can't get the whole thought out. So that's one reason. Sometimes I really don't want to deal with the potential fallout of expressing a particular viewpoint (I've had rape and death threats before), and sometimes I think I might be giving away too much personal information.
So I start over.
Maybe 90% of it is being "a woman on the internet." Never a shortage of people trying to make me feel unsafe or uncomfortable. And it sucks to have to try to minimize it but ... yeah, it's not like I make money doing this.
